DABANC Signs Strategic MOU with Bintulu Development Authority for the Development of Hyperscaler Data Centers and “Maker Tech-City” in Sarawak
DABANC Holding Limited signed an MOU with the Bintulu Development Authority to develop Hyperscaler Data Centers and the “Maker Tech-City” in Sarawak, witnessed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr.) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg. The project aims to position Sarawak as a regional hub for AI and green technology innovation.

KUCHING, SARAWAK – 26 May 2025 —
DABANC Holding Limited has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) to jointly develop Hyperscaler Data Centers and a visionary “Maker Tech-City” in Sarawak.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by The Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr.) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Premier of Sarawak, underscoring the Sarawak Government’s continued commitment to advancing its digital transformation and green technology ambitions.
The partnership represents a strategic milestone in establishing Sarawak as a regional leader in AI hyperscaler infrastructure, digital innovation, and sustainable technology ecosystems. The initiative aligns with Sarawak’s Post-2030 Development Strategy, promoting economic diversification through the integration of AI, blockchain, and renewable energy technologies.
During the ceremony, DABANC Chairman Prof. Wang presented the company’s vision to build the largest AI hyperscaler hub in Asia and the first Tech Heaven in the region. The project also aims to include an AI Startup Exchange, AI Incubator and Accelerator, and collaborative research campuses such as the Cambridge Lab/MIT Campus, fostering global partnerships and next-generation talent development.
Representatives from both public and private sectors—including government officials, business leaders, and technology experts—attended the ceremony, reflecting broad support for Sarawak’s drive toward becoming a leading hub for AI innovation, hyperscale computing, and sustainable development.
